J. William Towne
J. William "Bill" Towne grew up in poverty in the South and dropped out of high school by the eleventh grade. After years of struggle he finally went back to earn his G.E.D. and eventually was accepted into the University of Southern California. It was there that Towne really began to excel, majoring in public policy and going on to graduate Magna cum Laude in 2008. A month after graduation, Towne was accepted into the famed agent-training program at the William Morris Agency in Beverly Hills, California. While still a trainee at WMA, Towne volunteered at an inner-city elementary school and was so inspired by the students and staff that he began planning ways of giving back. A few months later he compiled the book Conversations with America's Best Teachers in an effort to reform American education, one teacher at a time. Towne currently lives in Los Angeles, California, with his wife Kendra and their children, Taylor and Miles.
